How do I book a tour?
We offer private tours to suit your schedule. If you are interested in a booking a tour, please indicate the number in your party and the date and time you are requesting on the contact page (best to include a few choices). - I will respond quickly.
So that I can plan a customized experience, please let me know a little about your group and their interests. Where are they from? Is the tour for students, business colleagues, a family, friends, etc.?
After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with important details.
If you do not receive an email after booking (please check your spam folder), please contact us so that we can send the necessary information.
What is the price of the tour?
A private 1.5 - 2-hour tour for 1-5 people is $200
A private 1.5 - 2-hour tour for 6-10 people is $300
If you have a larger group, let's discuss.
How long does the tour last?
Our regular walking tour of central Long Beach runs between 1.5 - 2 hours. If you would like to include a lunch stop, or a visit to another section of Long Beach, the length and price of the tour will reflect the modifications.
How much walking should I expect?
Typically, the tour covers approximately 2 miles (in a loop) at a moderate pace. It’s a stroll rather than a hike.
Can I bring children?
We are happy to have children join our tours with their parents or other responsible adults. As the parent / adult who’ll be joining the child, you are the best judge to assess the child’s interest level for a walking tour.
If the tour is booked for a private group of students, please let us know the grade level so the tour can be customized to make it interesting and fun for them.
How do I get to Long Beach?
By Railroad - Take the LIRR (Long Beach line) from either Penn Station or Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. The ride usually takes under an hour from Manhattan, or less time from other stops along the line.
By Car - Click here for driving directions. Link to Google Map . Give yourself enough time to find parking, particularly in the summer months and on week-ends. The meeting point is at the kiosk in the public plaza that is to the right of the Long Beach Railroad Station and to the left of National Blvd. on Park Avenue.
Where does the tour meet?
The tour will meet at the kiosk in Kennedy Plaza - which is very close to the railroad station. Upon exiting the station, head right on Park Avenue towards National Blvd. The Plaza is on Park Avenue, in-between the station and National Blvd.
If coming by car, look for the Long Island Railroad station and follow the above directions.
Please note, if a different meeting point is arranged, information will be provided in your confirmation email.
What about restrooms?
You can find restrooms prior to the tour at the LIRR station, Starbucks and the Long Beach Public Library. There are restrooms on the boardwalk as well. It is suggested to arrive early and use restrooms prior to the tour.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers, and sun protection. There is little shade along the route. Please bring an umbrella or rain attire if precipitation is expected. It’s always best to check weather conditions on the day of the tour so you can dress accordingly.
Are there other things to do in Long Beach?
There are many areas to explore and activities to partake in, depending on the day and season you visit. Your guide can recommend eateries and activity options based on your interests.
What if it rains or snows?
The tour continues rain or shine, but for safety reasons, we do not run tours if there is snow or ice on the streets or boardwalk or when there are dangerous storm conditions. If we need to cancel the tour, you will be notified by phone and email and you will receive a full refund (please make sure we have your correct email address and cell phone number).
What if I have to reschedule or cancel my tour?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 1 week in advance for a full refund. In cases of snow, ice or extreme weather conditions, tours will be cancelled, or if possible, rescheduled for another day or time.
Please make sure, when listing your contact information that you list a phone number and email that you regularly check.
